Book NowEquinox in Chichen Itza
Twice a year, the Kukulkan Pyramid becomes the scene of a unique phenomenon. Every year, during the spring and fall equinox, March 21st & September 21st, Chichen Itza presents the descent of the Mayan feathered serpent god, Kukulkan, down the pyramid steps - an image resulting from sunlight and shadows. This legendary event identified the beginning and end of the Mayan harvest period in a reverent and extraordinary manner. Experience the phenomenon that has awed the world with its Mayan architectural mastery.
